Skrunda-1
(Latvia, 2017)
Built in 1963, Skrunda-1 is a former Soviet military town in Latvia which has been entirely deserted since 1998.
Strategically important to the defence of the Soviet Union, there were two Dnepr radars near by which enabled surveillance of the West and objects in space.
Today the site is owned by local government with ongoing plans for the site to be redeveloped.
